The high milage super trainer is back, tuned, tested and constructed for a lighter, faster feel than before, the adidas adizero Prime X 3 Strung in Ftwr White/Core Black/Lucid Red still contains stacks and stacks of their pinnacle technology to help give you PB’s and smooth training runs.
With a new dual stiffening construction, the adidas adizero Prime X 3 Strung features both a carbon plate and Energyrods 2.0 to give a snappy feeling and an enhanced approach to energy propulsion. Three layers of Lightstrike Pro sit around the stiffening agents, with a massive 50mm stack height providing cushioning, speed and lightness in abundance.
The Strung upper, built-up layer by layer for the perfect combination of lightness, breathability and hold has been improved, and an all-new outsole uses the lightweight traction of Lighttraxion with continental rubber at toe off for complete confidence in any weather.
adizero Prime X
The ultimate expression of speed and technology, the adidas adizero Prime X features a high stack height that provides massive cushioning and propulsion, making it perfect for achieving fast times over longer distances.
Carbon Plate
Carbon plates have well-researched benefits and a seemingly endless list of race wins and world records.
They create the firmer feel that fast racers are looking for and help to guide the foot through your stride, providing a touch of extra support. They can also help create a rocker feel, with the stiffness allowing the shoe to pivot – as the toe goes down, the heel must come up, easing you into your next stride.
Although stiff, they do flex, providing an energised pop of forward momentum as the plate fights to retain its shape.
Each brand, and almost every shoe, uses a plate differently. Different shapes, thicknesses, and designs are used to prioritise a different aspect of performance. Some aim exclusively to guide the stride, while others focus solely on propulsion.
Regular Cushioning
Regular cushioning offers a blend of lightness, comfort, and ground feel. Popular for shorter distance racing as well as training and daily mileage running, the lower stack of midsole foam offers inherent stability and a lighter feel on your foot when compared to max-stack shoes.
Neutral
Neutral running shoes are designed to provide a smooth sensation without correcting your gait. They allow your natural motion to flow, while still offering a snug fit and a cushioned feel underfoot. As such, they’re ideal for runners who don’t overpronate.
